MentorSpace is a community-driven nonprofit organization working to ensure that children, young people, women and families have access to the skills, support and opportunities they need to thrive — while strengthening the communities and environments around them.
MentorSpace was established in 2019 with a conviction that sustainable development happens when people are empowered — not simply assisted. Our work focuses on practical education, employable skills, economic opportunity, environmental stewardship, health, safety and leadership.
Rather than treating these challenges as separate problems, we connect them. A young person’s employability is linked to skills. A family’s resilience is linked to income and wellbeing. A woman’s economic opportunity is linked to safety, finance and access to markets. A community’s future is linked to the health of its environment.
That integrated approach is at the heart of MentorSpace.

Like many community organizations, MentorSpace was severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Activities slowed, resources were stretched and opportunities to bring people together became harder to sustain.
Yet the very challenges MentorSpace was created to address did not disappear. Young people still need future-ready skills. Women in extractive communities still need safer livelihoods, better enterprise opportunities and stronger economic participation. Children still need mentorship and learning spaces. Communities still need environmental resilience and practical pathways to opportunity.
MentorSpace is steadily rebuilding — with greater clarity about where it can create the most meaningful impact and a renewed commitment to systems, partnerships and accountability.
